Drive Shaft Support
The Drive Shaft Support is a support bearing that is fitted halfway along the length of the drive-shaft. The drive-shaft connects the engine's transmission to the rear-differential. In larger vehicles and some cars, the drive-shaft is composed of two halves which are held together by the drive shaft support bearing. The bearing also keeps the drive-shaft centered and minimizes the vibrations that occur in the transmission system. Over time, the bearing can become worn out and cause the drive-shaft to become loose. This would eventually cause the transmission system in the car to fail. If you hear a knocking sound from under your vehicle, especially while steering, it is possible that the drive shaft support has become loose or worn out. You should replace the drive shaft support bearing at the earliest to prevent your vehicle's steering and transmission systems from failing completely. At Buy Auto Parts we stock a wide variety of drive shaft supports for every car make and model. We have genuine OEM replacements and premium aftermarket parts. All our car parts are thoroughly tested.
